Lose Weight in 7 Days or Less

When the holidays are over, all of the amazing food you indulged in appeared when you stepped on the scale this morning. Don’t be discouraged! You can lose all of the weight you gained during any holiday in less than 7 days by adopting these weight loss techniques!

1. High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) Workouts


HIIT Workouts involves combining short high-intensity exercises with short low-intensity exercises, which have been shown to increase weight loss more than steady cardio workouts. During the intense exercises, your heart rate should reach 80% of its maximum rate, which can be calculated by subtracting your age from 220 and multiplying that by .8. For example, if you are 30 years old, 80% the maximum rate is 220-30= 190 x .8 = 152. Once your heart rate reaches the 80% maximum goal, reduce your workout intensity to a very low rate for the same amount of time it took you to reach the 80% heart rate maximum. Repeat this 5-10 times for a complete HIIT Workout.

How it Works: Since HIIT combines interval training and a high-intensity workout, it results in excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), also known as ‘afterburn.’ That means that your body remains a fat-burning machine for up to 48 hours after you finish your HIIT Workout.

2: WaterWater

A lot of times, the amount of salt you consume can result in bloating and water retention, which can cause you to weigh 2-4 lbs. more than you actually are. In order to get rid of the water weight, commit to drinking water the amount of half of your body weight in ounces for up to 7 days, if not more. While you are increasing your water consumption make sure to decrease your sodium consumption, so you’re not counteracting the debloating process.

How it Works: The water will flush the salt out, prevent constipation, and increase your body’s hydration, which is all necessary to lose weight.

3: Intermittent FastingPlate

After a calorie-filled vacation, an easy way to lose the weight is to partake in intermittent fasting. Intermittent Fasting involves not consuming anything but water for a period of 8-24 hours. The longer you fast, the more effective Intermittent Fasting will be.

How It Works: Fasting increases your metabolism and heightens your body’s fat burning rate. When you eat, your insulin rises, which causes sugar to be stored and fat to produced in your liver. When you don’t eat, insulin decreases, which causes the sugar and fat your body has stored, to be burned!

4: Herbal Detox Teas

All of the food you consumed tends to cause constipation of your digestive system. Teas containing the senna herb are great for relieving constipation and have been known to cleanse the colon before a colonoscopy procedure. The longer you allow the senna tea to seep in water increases its cleansing effectiveness.

How it Works: After typically 7-12 hours, the compounds in senna leaves will have a laxative effect on your digestive system.
